Environmental Policy

Rapelle is a Greenhouse Challenge Plus Member which is a Federal Government initiative to tackle climate change. In becoming a Greenhouse Challenge Plus Member, we conducted an audit to monitor our carbon emissions and pledged to strive to continually reduce our carbon emissions  annually and ultimately become carbon neutral.

Reducing your greenhouse gas emissions

We have the tools to assist business to calculate their greenhouse gas emissions. The first step to reducing your emissions is to calculate your footprint using our emissions calculator. Click on our business footprint calculator on our Home page. By conducting an audit of your business using our energy audit tools, you will identify problem areas and can start to become more efficient.

We are developing calculators to demonstrate the benefit of applying treatments to protect surfaces and in doing so, dramatically cut maintenance and reduce carbon emissions. Click on our Maintenance Cost Savings Calculator to see the benefits.

We continue to strive to improve our chemistry so that it is environmentally friendly and delivers positive outcomes that benefit our planet.

E.P.A

All works carried out by  Rapelle Applicators are inline with all current E.P.A Guidelines, Namely section 16 through to 26 of the Contaminated Water Act, and sections 12 to 14 of the Storm Water and Public Waste Act.  These guidelines state that all contaminated water that is flushed into any storm water drain or outlets must be less than five parts per million contaminated contents a litre.

Sludge traps will be placed at all drains and any water that is above this limit will be taken to a water treatment centre for disposal.

Rapelle adhere strictly to all E.P.A guidelines and to the Clean Water Act of 1976 set down by Councils and all its amended changes since.

Water Exemption Permit

Rapelle Applicators have full water exemption for hard surfaces, soft surfaces (landscaping needs) and sprinklers (required for some seals that need to stay wet for some hours).

Rapelle are extremely water conscious and fully sympathetic to the current drought.  Therefore at all times it adheres, without question, to the water saving policies implemented by the government.  Any wastage of water by Rapelle is kept to a bare minimum, including in the initial clean of a site and recycled and reused where possible.
