Rapelle awarded GREEN AWARD at an inaugural big 5 conference in UAE
The Middle East’s biggest-ever trade fair for the construction sector, the Big 5 show, opened on Sunday, 23rd of November 2008, by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

The event, which will last for five days, witnessed the advent of thousands of visitors; more than 3,200 exhibitors from 50 countries participated.
Rapelle a GHCP member picked up an award for their Invisi Seal concrete and masonry surface treatment that is proven to dramatically reduce maintenance cost and consequently greenhouse gas emissions. Rapelle have built a online calculator to help companies and individuals calculate savings for ten years given the reduced maintenance required as a result. The calculator also calculates carbon emission reductions which directly translate to operational efficiency and energy savings.
Mr Bernard Thompson who refers himself to the 'team leader' at Rapelle was very excited to be the only Australia company recognised at the awards and expects to secure export business as a result of this recognition and their presence at the Big 5 conference.
The conference is tailored for architects, engineers, developers, constructors, builders, building owners, investors, building and facilities managers, government agencies, sustainability consultants, interior designers, landscape architects and planned community designers.
Another green focus is The Big 5 Gaia Awards showcasing environmentally friendly products and services. Products and services exhibited at the Big 5 exhibition that reduce the impact on the environment are eligible for the awards and a judging panel, comprising senior individuals from local developers, contractors and government has been assembled with the support of Ecospecifier International.
Rapelle was one of 27 international Award winners.
