GREENthenGOLD™ is an employee benefit program Rapelle devised based on the Australian Government’s Greenloans home energy efficiency program. We thought this initiative would be a good way to help our employees, their friends, our customers and the broader community save some money and do their bit for the environment.
What you get:
- Free energy efficiency home assessment valued
in excess of $250. - Report given on ways to reduce costs and greenhouse gas emissions
- Advice will be given on availability to purchase and install solar water heating, roof insulation or other energy/water efficiency products part funded by State and Federal Government grants
- Potential to apply for Green Loans – these are $10,000 interest free loans for 4 years to purchase energy efficient goods.
You see, we realised that Climate Change is Habit Change. Learning how much can be saved at home is a means to entrench good habits, help employees do their bit for the environment and bring those habits to work. And it doesn’t cost a cent!

The Greenloans home energy efficiency program starts with an energy and waste audit provided by a qualified assessor. It’s valued at around $250, but free for the householder as it is entirely paid for by the Australian Government. The report generated for the householder indicates energy performance, ways to cut energy use and potential savings in money and carbon emissions.
Using this method, employees can use word of mouth to tell family and friends, so that the wider community can benefit from reducing energy bills, and ensuring a better environment for our kids.

What about my Small Business?
For $50 you could cut energy up to 30%
To help our business customers replicate this program and understand how they can cut operational costs and greenhouse gas emissions, we are recommending they book a business energy audit.
We know a business audit can reduce operational costs in the order of 20% to 30% and we are recommending NSW Government Department of Environment Climate Change (DECC) approved service suppliers. These audits can cost as little as $50 for business’s with an energy use below $20,000 pa. It’s only $50 as the rest is subsidised by the Government.
